New Mexico High School Basketball - Mayfield can't hold off Las Cruces

Las Cruces Bulldawgs (Las Cruces, NM) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Mayfield Trojans (Las Cruces, NM), 52-46 in a league match.

With the victory, Las Cruces advances its record to 12-10 on the year. The Bulldawgs travel to Gadsden (Anthony, NM) to face the Panthers in a 5A District 3 match on Monday, February 10. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 5-16. Gadsden lost 61-33 in their recent league match against Organ Mountain (Las Cruces, NM)

The Trojans now own a 9-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Centennial for a 5A District 3 match on Monday, February 10. Mayfield will face a Hawks squad coming off a 56-51 league win over Alamogordo (Alamogordo, NM). The Hawks record now stands at 8-14.
