In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting Rudyard Bulldogs basketball team scored a close 70-65 triumph over the Maplewood Baptist Academy Black Bears.

The Bulldogs (10-8) will now prepare for their contest against Brimley (Brimley, MI). The Bays go into the Eastern Upper Peninsula contest with a 6-9 record. In their last contest, Brimley was tipped by Manistique (Manistique, MI), 78-74, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Black Bears battle the Beaver Island Islanders (Beaver Island, MI) in a Northern Lights contest, on Friday, February 7. Maplewood Baptist Academy will attempt to better on its 9-7 season record. The Islanders go into the contest with a 0-8 record after their 82-22 non-league loss to Bay Mills Ojibwe Charter (Brimley, MI).
