In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting Big Bay de Noc Black Bears basketball team scored a big 59-14 triumph over the Rapid River Rockets.

The Black Bears (14-2) will now prepare for their contest against Mid Peninsula (Rock, MI). The Wolverines go into the non-league contest with a 0-12 record. In their last contest, Mid Peninsula was trounced by Engadine (Engadine, MI), 38-35, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Rockets confront the Forest Park Trojans (Crystal Falls, MI) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, February 11. Rapid River will attempt to better on its 2-10 season record. The Trojans go into the contest with a 9-8 record after their 48-41 non-league win over West Iron County (Iron River, MI).
