Minnesota High School Basketball - Maple River knocks off Griggs County Central/Midkota

In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Maple River Eagles basketball team scored a good 64-45 win over the Griggs County Central/Midkota Cougars.
The Eagles (19-19) will now prepare for their contest against St. Clair (St. Clair, MN). The Cyclones come into the AA Section 2 contest with a 8-11 record. In their last contest, St. Clair was topped by Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (Janesville, MN), 86-63, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Cougars battle the North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland/Munich/Starkweather] Bearcats (Cando, ND) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, February 8. Griggs County Central/Midkota will attempt to better on its 8-9 season record. The Bearcats come into the contest with a 4-8 record after their 45-37 non-league win over Midway/Minto (Inkster, ND).
