In Thursday's league contest, the host Willow Lions basketball team scored a close 32-30 triumph over the Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls.

The Lions (10-8) will now prepare for their contest against St. Martin's Episcopal (Metairie, LA). The Saints go into the non-league contest with a 12-3 record. In their last contest, St. Martin's Episcopal nipped McGehee (New Orleans, LA), 38-35, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Swamp Owls battle the Belle Chasse Cardinals (Belle Chasse, LA) in a 4A District 9 contest, on Saturday, February 8. Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy will attempt to better on its 11-19 season record. The Cardinals go into the contest with a 9-15 record after their 50-44 league loss to Academy of Our Lady (Marrero, LA).
