North Carolina High School Basketball - Mitchell triumphant over NCSSM: Morganton

The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) and the host NCSSM: Morganton Dragons (Morganton, NC), observed Mitchell's basketball team overwhelm NCSSM: Morganton by a score of 67-15.

The Mountaineers (14-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Rosman (Rosman, NC). The Tigers come into the 1A/2A Western Highlands challenge with a 6-14 record. In their last challenge, Rosman was routed by Madison (Marshall, NC), 59-28, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Dragons encounter the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) in a 1A/2A Western Highlands challenge, on Friday, February 7. NCSSM: Morganton will attempt to improve on its 0-15 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 11-9 record after their 68-29 league win over Rosman (Rosman, NC).
