In Thursday's league test, the Navajo Prep Eagles (Farmington, NM) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), by a score of 54-44.

Next, the Eagles encounter the Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM) in a 3A District 1 test, on Saturday, February 8. Navajo Prep will attempt to improve on its 17-5 season record. The Thunderbirds come into the test with a 4-17 record after their 55-42 league loss to Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM).

The Hawks (11-11) will now prepare for their test against Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM). The Cougars come into the 3A District 1 test with a 12-9 record. In their last test, Tohatchi beat Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM), 48-34, in a league test.
