Next, the Bears encounter the Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) in a 3A District 1 test, on Saturday, February 8. Wingate will attempt to improve on its 13-9 season record. The Skyhawks come into the test with a 15-6 record after their 34-30 league loss to Thoreau (Thoreau, NM).

The Thunderbirds (4-17) will now prepare for their test against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM). The Eagles come into the 3A District 1 test with a 17-5 record. In their last test, Navajo Prep beat Thoreau (Thoreau, NM), 54-44, in a league test.
