The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Pine Eagle Spartans (Halfway, OR) and the host Joseph Eagles (Joseph, OR), observed Pine Eagle's basketball team knock off Joseph by a score of 50-41.
The Spartans (10-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Wallowa (Wallowa, OR). The Cougars come into the 1A Old Oregon challenge with a 0-20 record.
Next up, the Eagles meet the Union Bobcats (Union, OR) in a 1A Old Oregon battle, on Saturday, February 7. Joseph will attempt to advance on its 6-13 season record. The Bobcats enter the battle with a 17-4 record after their 52-30 non-league win over Nyssa (Nyssa, OR).
