Carrington Cardinals (Carrington, ND) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Oakes Tornadoes (Oakes, ND), 60-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Carrington upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier (Edgeley, ND) to play the Rangers in a B Region 3 District 5 bout on Thursday, February 9. The Rangers come into the bout with a record of 5-4. Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier won 61-56 in their recent league bout against LaMoure/Litchville-Marion (LaMoure, ND)

Next up, the Tornadoes play the Barnes County North co-op [North Central/Wimbledon-Courtenay] Bison (Rogers, ND) in a B Region 3 District 5 bout, on Thursday, February 9. Oakes will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Bison come into the bout with a 3-6 record after their 70-67 league win over Griggs-Barnes County [Griggs County Central/North Central/Wimbledon-Courtenay/Midkota] (Cooperstown, ND).
