Watersmeet Nimrods (Watersmeet, MI) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Chassell Panthers (Chassell, MI), 65-60 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Watersmeet upgrades its record to 12-3 on the season. The Nimrods travel to Johnston (Bessemer, MI) to play the Speedboys in a Freelance bout on Thursday, February 9. The Speedboys go into the bout with a record of 3-9. Johnston lost 54-47 in their recent league bout against Ontonagon (Ontonagon, MI)

Next up, the Panthers play the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes (Lake Linden, MI) in a Copper Mountain - Copper County bout, on Friday, February 10. Chassell will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Lakes go into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 79-46 league loss to Jeffers (Painesdale, MI).
