Wortham Bulldogs (Wortham, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Dawson Bulldogs (Dawson, TX), 58-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Wortham upgrades its record to 7-11 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Axtell (Axtell, TX) to play the Longhorns in a 2A Region III District 18 bout on Friday, February 10. The Longhorns come into the bout with a record of 11-15. Axtell lost 60-54 in their recent league bout against Marlin (Marlin, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Bremond Tigers (Bremond, TX) in a 2A Region III District 18 bout, on Friday, February 10. Dawson will attempt to upgrade on its 21-5 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 19-8 record after their 43-40 league win over Marlin (Marlin, TX).
