North Carolina High School Basketball - West Johnston nips Hunt

February 7, 2023: Wilson, NC 27893

West Johnston Wildcats (Benson, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Hunt Warriors (Wilson, NC), 74-70 in a league bout.

With the win, West Johnston upgrades its record to 12-9 on the season. The Wildcats travel to South Johnston (Four Oaks, NC) to play the Trojans in a 3A Conference 21 bout on Friday, February 10. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 8-14. South Johnston lost 61-42 in their recent league bout against East Wake (Wendell, NC)

Next up, the Warriors play the Fike Demons (Wilson, NC) in a 3A Conference 21 bout, on Friday, February 10. Hunt will attempt to upgrade on its 7-15 season record. The Demons go into the bout with a 4-18 record after their 54-51 league loss to Southern Wayne (Dudley, NC).
