The Lakeland Thunderbirds (Minocqua, WI) basketball crushed the host Tomahawk Hatchets (Tomahawk, WI), 71-30 in Tuesday's league test.

The Thunderbirds (9-7) will now prepare for their test against Rhinelander (Rhinelander, WI). The Hodags go into the Great Northern test with a 5-13 record. In their last test, Rhinelander was trounced by Medford (Medford, WI), 64-42, in a league test.

The Hatchets now own a 3-14 record. They play next when they travel to Antigo for a Great Northern test on Friday, February 10. Tomahawk will encounter a Red Robins squad coming off a 72-58 non-league loss to Merrill (Merrill, WI). The Red Robins record now stands at 2-17.
