Austin-East Roadrunners (Knoxville, TN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting West Rebels (Knoxville, TN), 48-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Austin-East upgrades its record to 4-12 on the campaign. The Roadrunners host Gatlinburg-Pittman (Gatlinburg, TN) to play the Highlanders in a non-league bout on Friday, February 10. The Highlanders come into the bout with a record of 21-5. Gatlinburg-Pittman won 61-29 in their recent non-league bout against Fulton (Knoxville, TN)

Next up, the Rebels play the Hardin Valley Academy Hawks (Knoxville, TN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 10. West will attempt to upgrade on its 1-23 season record. The Hawks come into the bout with a 9-9 record after their 47-45 league win over Maryville (Maryville, TN).
