The Classical Purples basketball team (Providence, RI), was nudged 55-48 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Barrington Eagles (Barrington, RI)

The Eagles now possess a 14-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rogers for a State Championship battle on Thursday, February 9. Barrington will confront a Vikings team coming off a 52-33 league win over Classical (Providence, RI). The Vikings record now stands at 10-7.

The Purples (5-10) will now prepare for their battle against Ponaganset (North Scituate, RI). The Chieftains come into the State Championship battle with a 12-6 record. In their last battle, Ponaganset was nudged by St. Mary Academy-Bay View (East Providence, RI), 47-40, in a league battle.
