Benton Cardinals (St. Joseph, MO) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Lafayette Fighting Irish (St. Joseph, MO), 69-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Benton upgrades its record to 16-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Maryville (Maryville, MO) to play the Spoofhounds in a Midland Empire bout on Friday, February 10. The Spoofhounds come into the bout with a record of 7-10. Maryville won 58-27 in their recent non-league bout against Cameron (Cameron, MO)

Next up, the Fighting Irish play the Bishop LeBlond Eagles (St. Joseph, MO) in a Midland Empire bout, on Thursday, February 9. Lafayette will attempt to upgrade on its 7-15 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 20-1 record after their 62-36 league win over Cameron (Cameron, MO).
