Moriarty Pintos (Moriarty, NM) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Espanola Valley Sundevils (Espanola, NM), 49-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Moriarty upgrades its record to 13-10 on the campaign. The Pintos host Taos (Taos, NM) to play the Tigers in a 4A District 2 bout on Friday, February 10. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 7-15. Taos lost 28-24 in their recent league bout against Pojoaque Valley (Pojoaque, NM)

Next up, the Sundevils play the Los Alamos Hilltoppers (Los Alamos, NM) in a 4A District 2 bout, on Friday, February 10. Espanola Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 10-13 season record. The Hilltoppers come into the bout with a 15-7 record after their 38-33 non-league loss to St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM).
