The Grants Pirates basketball team (Grants, NM), was overwhelmed 64-34 in Tuesday's league battle with the host St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM)
The Sartans now possess a 17-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Valencia for a 4A District 5 battle on Friday, February 10. St. Pius X will confront a Jaguars team coming off a 56-38 league win over Grants (Grants, NM). The Jaguars record now stands at 16-7.
The Pirates (9-14) will now prepare for their battle against Highland (Albuquerque, NM). The Hornets come into the 4A District 5 battle with a 12-11 record. In their last battle, Highland trounced Belen (Belen, NM), 47-39, in a league battle.
