South Central Timberwolves (Coldwater, KS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Kiowa County Mavericks (Greensburg, KS), 46-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, South Central upgrades its record to 7-8 on the campaign. The Timberwolves travel to Satanta (Satanta, KS) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Friday, February 10. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 3-14. Satanta lost 55-39 in their recent non-league bout against Moscow (Moscow, KS)

Next up, the Mavericks play the Hodgeman County Longhorns (Jetmore, KS) in a Southern Plains-Iroquois bout, on Friday, February 10. Kiowa County will attempt to upgrade on its 11-6 season record. The Longhorns come into the bout with a 13-3 record after their 69-60 league loss to Bucklin (Bucklin, KS).
