Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) and the host Stephens County Indians (Toccoa, GA), saw Monroe Area's basketball squad overcome Stephens County by a tally of 49-39.

With the victory, Monroe Area improves its record to 11-13 on the campaign. The Purple Hurricanes travel to Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA) to confront the Warriors in a AAA Region 8 challenge on Friday, February 10. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 8-15. Oconee County lost 55-49 in their recent league challenge against Hart County (Hartwell, GA)

Next up, the Indians confront the Hebron Christian Academy Lions (Dacula, GA) in a AAA Region 8 challenge, on Friday, February 10. Stephens County will attempt to improve on its 3-20 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 24-0 record after their 88-34 league win over Franklin County (Carnesville, GA).
