Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting West Columbus Vikings (Cerro Gordo, NC), 52-14 in a league bout.

With the win, Pender upgrades its record to 9-12 on the season. The Patriots host Heide Trask (Rocky Point, NC) to play the Titans in a 1A/2A Conference 5 bout on Friday, February 10. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 3-19. Heide Trask lost 66-22 in their recent league bout against Whiteville (Whiteville, NC)

Next up, the Vikings play the East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 5 bout, on Friday, February 10. West Columbus will attempt to upgrade on its 0-18 season record. The Gators go into the bout with a 14-6 record after their 71-23 league win over South Columbus (Tabor City, NC).
