East Carteret Mariners (Beaufort, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Southside Seahawks (Chocowinity, NC), 57-56 in a league bout.

With the win, East Carteret upgrades its record to 5-11 on the season. The Mariners host Lejeune (Camp Lejeune, NC) to play the Devil Pups in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 9. The Devil Pups go into the bout with a record of 2-10.

Next up, the Seahawks play the Jones Trojans (Trenton, NC) in a bout, on Thursday, February 9. Southside will attempt to upgrade on its 12-9 season record.
