The Cumberland Dukes basketball team (Cumberland, VA), was nudged 64-58 in Wednesday's league battle with the visiting Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA)
The Knights now possess a 15-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nottoway for a non-league battle on Friday, February 9. Buckingham will battle a Cougars team coming off a 67-45 league win over Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA). The Cougars record now stands at 7-11.
The Dukes (10-9) will now prepare for their battle against Amelia County (Amelia Court House, VA). The Raiders come into the James River battle with a 14-6 record. In their last battle, Amelia County edged Buckingham (Buckingham, VA), 64-58, in a league battle.
