La Plata Warriors (La Plata, MD) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Patuxent Panthers (Lusby, MD), 50-36 in a league bout.

With the win, La Plata upgrades its record to 6-13 on the season. The Warriors host Westlake (Waldorf, MD) to play the Wolverines in a Southern Maryland bout on Friday, February 9. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 9-9. Westlake won 56-51 in their recent league bout against Great Mills (Great Mills, MD)

Next up, the Panthers play the St. Charles (Waldorf, MD) in a Southern Maryland bout, on Friday, February 9. Patuxent will attempt to upgrade on its 4-16 season record. The go into the bout with a 16-3 record after their 62-40 league win over Huntingtown (Huntingtown, MD).
