Whiteville Wolfpack (Whiteville, NC) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC), 46-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Whiteville upgrades its record to 7-12 on the campaign. The Wolfpack travel to East Columbus (Lake Waccamaw, NC) to play the Gators in a 1A/2A Waccamaw bout on Friday, February 9. The Gators come into the bout with a record of 6-12. East Columbus lost 64-46 in their recent league bout against South Columbus (Tabor City, NC)

Next up, the Patriots play the West Columbus Vikings (Cerro Gordo, NC) in a 1A/2A Waccamaw bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Pender will attempt to upgrade on its 3-15 season record.
