In Friday's league contest, the visiting Ascension Catholic Bulldogs basketball team scored a close 48-45 triumph over the Ascension Christian .
The Bulldogs (16-9) will now prepare for their contest against St. John (Plaquemine, LA). The Eagles go into the 1A District 8 contest with a 14-13 record. In their last contest, St. John nipped False River (New Roads, LA), 47-40, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the battle the North Iberville Bears (Rosedale, LA) in a 1A District 8 contest, on Saturday, February 8. Ascension Christian will attempt to better on its 14-12 season record.
