The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Belton Tigers (Belton, TX) and the visiting Lake Belton Broncos (Temple, TX), observed Belton's basketball team overcome Lake Belton by a margin of 61-50.

The Tigers (27-6) will now prepare for their challenge against University (Waco, TX). The Trojans come into the 5A Region II District 16 challenge with a 23-8 record. In their last challenge, University defeated Chaparral (Killeen, TX), 68-53, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Broncos battle the Ellison Eagles (Killeen, TX) in a 5A Region II District 16 challenge, on Tuesday, February 11. Lake Belton will attempt to better on its 14-18 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 25-5 record after their 78-42 league win over Waco (Waco, TX).
