In Friday's league contest, the visiting Leggett Pirates basketball team scored a close 51-48 win over the Burkeville Mustangs.
The Pirates (10-19) will now prepare for their contest against Brookeland (Brookeland, TX). The Wildcats come into the 1A Region IV District 28 contest with a 24-7 record. In their last contest, Brookeland edged Goodrich (Goodrich, TX), 98-5, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats (Daisetta, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 28 contest, on Tuesday, February 11. Burkeville will attempt to improve on its 7-17 season record. The Bobcats come into the test with a 19-8 record after their 48-30 league win over Chester (Chester, TX).
