The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) and the visiting Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC), observed Weddington's basketball team overwhelm Cuthbertson by a score of 73-50.

The Warriors (17-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Pirates come into the 4A Southern Carolina challenge with a 4-17 record. In their last challenge, Porter Ridge was routed by Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC), 60-49, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cavaliers battle the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets (Marshville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 10. Cuthbertson will attempt to improve on its 12-8 season record. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a 11-10 record after their 74-37 league win over Central Academy (Monroe, NC).
