In Friday's league contest, the host Sleepy Eye Indians basketball team scored a good 67-54 triumph over the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds.

The Indians (9-13) will now prepare for their contest against Madelia (Madelia, MN). The Blackhawks go into the A Section 2 contest with a 20-2 record. In their last contest, Madelia topped Alden-Conger (Alden, MN), 82-42, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Thunderbirds battle the Nicollet Raiders (Nicollet, MN) in a A Section 2 contest, on Monday, February 10. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will attempt to better on its 8-12 season record. The Raiders go into the contest with a 11-12 record after their 98-75 non-league win over Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons (Alden, MN).
