In Friday's league contest, the host Gilmer Buckeyes basketball team scored a good 55-41 triumph over the Spring Hill Panthers.

The Buckeyes (13-13) will now prepare for their contest against Kilgore (Kilgore, TX). The Bulldogs go into the 4A Region II District 16 contest with a 11-13 record. In their last contest, Kilgore was topped by Chapel Hill (Tyler, TX), 53-42, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Cumberland Academy Knights (Tyler, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 contest, on Tuesday, February 11. Spring Hill will attempt to better on its 10-23 season record. The Knights go into the contest with a 9-20 record after their 72-36 league loss to Pine Tree (Longview, TX).
