New Mexico High School Basketball - Grants can't hold off Valencia

Valencia Jaguars (Los Lunas, NM) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Grants Pirates (Grants, NM), 75-72 in a league match.
With the victory, Valencia upgrades its record to 9-13 on the year. The Jaguars travel to St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM) to face the Sartans in a 4A District 5 match on Friday, February 14. The Sartans enter the match with a record of 17-5.
The Pirates now sport a 12-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sandia Prep for a non-league match on Saturday, February 8. Grants will face a Sundevils squad coming off a 51-42 league win over Bosque (Albuquerque, NM). The Sundevils record now stands at 11-9.
