Vermont High School Basketball - Green Mountain nips Springfield

In Friday's league contest, the visiting Green Mountain Chieftains basketball team scored a close 45-38 triumph over the Springfield Cosmos.
The Chieftains (11-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Woodstock (Woodstock, VT). The Wasps come into the Southern Vermont - C challenge with a 9-7 record. In their last battle, Woodstock was nudged by White River Valley (Royalton, VT), 59-41, in a league battle.
The Cosmos now own a 6-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Arlington Memorial for a non-league battle on Monday, February 10. Springfield will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 66-37 non-league loss to Twin Valley (Wilmington, VT). The Eagles record now stands at 7-9.
