The Spurger Pirates (Spurger, TX) basketball crushed the host High Island Cardinals (High Island, TX), 76-46 in Friday's league bout.
The Pirates now possess a 17-8 record. They play next when they host Chester for a 1A Region IV District 28 bout on Tuesday, February 11. Spurger will play a Yellowjackets team coming off a 48-30 league loss to Hull-Daisetta (Daisetta, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 9-14.
With the loss, High Island falls to 4-24 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Goodrich (Goodrich, TX) to play the Hornets in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout on Tuesday, February 11.
