Texas High School Basketball - Montgomery can't hold off Lake Creek

Lake Creek Lions (Montgomery, TX) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Montgomery Bears (Montgomery, TX), 54-49 in a league match.

With the victory, Lake Creek upgrades its record to 17-16 on the year. The Lions host Huntsville (Huntsville, TX) to face the Hornets in a 5A Region III District 17 match on Tuesday, February 11. The Hornets enter the match with a record of 18-7. Huntsville won 98-62 in their recent league match against Rudder (Bryan, TX)

The Bears now sport a 19-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to College Station for a 5A Region III District 17 match on Tuesday, February 11. Montgomery will face a Cougars squad coming off a 66-47 league loss to Brenham (Brenham, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 12-13.
