The Plainfield East Bengals (Plainfield, IL) basketball edged the visiting Plainfield South Cougars (Plainfield, IL), 79-72 in Friday's league bout.
The Bengals now possess a 12-17 record. They play next when they host Downers Grove South for a non-league bout on Saturday, February 8. Plainfield East will play a Mustangs team coming off a 65-41 league win over Leyden (Franklin Park, IL). The Mustangs record now stands at 14-11.
With the loss, Plainfield South falls to 16-9 on the campaign. The Cougars host Elgin (Elgin, IL) to play the Maroons in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 12. The Maroons go into the bout with a record of 2-23.
