The Wingate Bears basketball team scored 71 points and limited the visiting Zuni Thunderbirds to 47 in the Bears league triumph on Friday.

The Bears now have a 9-12 record. They play next when they travel to Newcomb for a 3A District 1 game on Wednesday, February 12. Wingate will confront a Skyhawks team coming off a 65-57 league loss to Thoreau (Thoreau, NM). The Skyhawks record now stands at 6-15.

With the loss, Zuni falls to 11-10 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to confront the Eagles in a 3A District 1 game on Wednesday, February 12. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 16-6. Navajo Prep won 68-54 in their recent league game against Thoreau (Thoreau, NM)
