North Carolina High School Basketball - Elkin bests Alleghany

February 7, 2025: Elkin, NC 28621

The Elkin Buckin' Elks basketball team scored 40 points and limited the visiting Alleghany Trojans to 30 in the Buckin' Elks league triumph on Friday.

The Buckin' Elks now possess a 8-14 record. They play next when they travel to Mount Airy for a 1A Northwest game on Tuesday, February 11. Elkin will play a Granite Bears team coming off a 60-25 non-league loss to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC). The Granite Bears record now stands at 8-12.

With the loss, Alleghany falls to 4-16 on the campaign. The Trojans host Starmount (Boonville, NC) to play the Rams in a 1A Northwest game on Monday, February 10. The Rams go into the game with a record of 14-8. Starmount lost 60-40 in their recent league game against South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC)
