In Friday's league test, the Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA) basketball squad trounced the host Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA), by a score of 73-41.

Next, the Hawks clash with the Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) in a Dogwood test, on Tuesday, February 11. Gretna will attempt to improve on its 12-8 season record. The Governors come into the test with a 0-17 record after their 48-17 league loss to Dan River (Ringgold, VA).

The Colonels (4-16) will now prepare for their test against Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA). The Trojans come into the non-league test with a 7-12 record. In their last test, Tunstall was routed by Mecklenburg County (Baskerville, VA), 50-28, in a league test.
