The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Chopticon Braves (Morganza, MD) and the host Calvert Cavaliers (Prince Frederick, MD), observed Chopticon's basketball team knock off Calvert by a score of 33-16.

The Braves (9-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Great Mills (Great Mills, MD). The Hornets come into the Southern Maryland challenge with a 10-7 record. In their last challenge, Great Mills prevailed over Thomas Stone (Waldorf, MD), 41-33, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cavaliers encounter the Patuxent Panthers (Lusby, MD) in a Southern Maryland challenge, on Monday, February 10. Calvert will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 4-10 record after their 68-24 league loss to St. Charles (Waldorf, MD).
