The Metcalfe County Hornets basketball team scored 44 points and limited the host Cumberland County Panthers to 41 in the Hornets league triumph on Friday.

The Hornets now possess a 20-6 record. They play next when they host Campbellsville for a non-league game on Saturday, February 8. Metcalfe County will play a Eagles team coming off a 48-43 non-league loss to Central Hardin (Cecilia, KY). The Eagles record now stands at 11-6.

With the loss, Cumberland County falls to 16-6 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Southwestern (Somerset, KY) to play the Warriors in a non-league game on Tuesday, February 11. The Warriors go into the game with a record of 15-10. Southwestern lost 80-58 in their recent non-league game against Knox Central (Barbourville, KY)
