North Carolina High School Basketball - Draughn triumphant over NCSSM: Morganton

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) and the visiting NCSSM: Morganton Dragons (Morganton, NC), observed Draughn's basketball team overwhelm NCSSM: Morganton by a score of 66-2.

The Wildcats (12-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars come into the 1A/2A Western Highlands challenge with a 18-3 record. In their last challenge, Mountain Heritage trounced Madison (Marshall, NC), 60-31, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Dragons battle the Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) in a 1A/2A Western Highlands challenge, on Monday, February 10. NCSSM: Morganton will attempt to improve on its 0-15 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 14-6 record after their 66-27 league win over Owen (Black Mountain, NC).
