In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting New Standard Academy Spartans basketball team scored a big 63-36 triumph over the International Academy Phoenix.

The Spartans (10-5) will now prepare for their contest against Bentley (Burton, MI). The Bulldogs go into the non-league contest with a 0-13 record. In their last contest, Bentley was trounced by Mt. Morris (Mt. Morris, MI), 30-16, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Phoenix confront the Bendle Tigers (Burton, MI) in a Genesee Area - Red contest, on Tuesday, February 11. International Academy will attempt to better on its 4-11 season record. The Tigers go into the contest with a 5-7 record after their 55-7 league win over Beecher (Flint, MI).
