In Friday's league contest, the visiting Oklahoma Union Cougars basketball team scored a close 26-20 triumph over the Nowata Ironmen.

The Cougars (1-19) will now prepare for their contest against Commerce (Commerce, OK). The Tigers go into the non-league contest with a 13-2 record. In their last contest, Commerce nipped Wyandotte (Wyandotte, OK), 54-27, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Ironmen confront the Caney Valley Trojans (Ramona, OK) in a Northeast Valley contest, on Tuesday, February 11. Nowata will attempt to better on its 2-17 season record. The Trojans go into the contest with a 12-9 record after their 55-26 league loss to Chelsea (Chelsea, OK).
