In Friday's non-league contest, the host Sun Valley Spartans basketball team scored a good 46-38 triumph over the Marvin Ridge Mavericks.
The Spartans (10-7) will now prepare for their contest against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Pirates go into the non-league contest with a 4-9 record.
In their next game, the Mavericks confront the Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, February 12. Marvin Ridge will attempt to better on its 4-11 season record. The Cavaliers go into the contest with a 16-2 record after their 51-49 non-league loss to Forest Hills (Marshville, NC).
