The Steele Canyon Cougars basketball team scored 63 points and limited the host Monte Vista Monarchs to 41 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now possess a 6-11 record. They play next when they host El Capitan for a game on Tuesday, February 11. Steele Canyon will confront a Vaqueros team coming off a 60-40 non-league win over Rock Academy (San Diego, CA). The Vaqueros record now stands at 6-17.

With the loss, Monte Vista falls to 3-22 on the campaign. The Monarchs travel to Helix (La Mesa, CA) to confront the Highlanders in a game on Tuesday, February 11. The Highlanders go into the game with a record of 14-5. Helix won 59-57 in their recent league game against Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, CA)
