Fans at Friday's league battle between the El Capitan Vaqueros (Lakeside, CA) and the visiting Grossmont Foothillers (El Cajon, CA), saw El Capitan's soccer squad hold off Grossmont by a count of 2-1.

The Vaqueros (7-9) will now prepare for their battle against Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, CA). The Matadors enter the Grossmont Valley battle with a 3-14 record. In their last battle, Mount Miguel was edged by Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA), 7-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Foothillers battle the West Hills Wolf Pack (Santee, CA) in a Grossmont Valley battle, on Wednesday, February 12. Grossmont will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Wolf Pack enter the battle with a 11-3 record after their 4-1 league win over El Cajon Valley (El Cajon, CA).
