In Friday's league outing, the host Mount Vernon Tigers soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 victory over the Pleasant Grove Hawks.
The Tigers (3-5) will now prepare for their outing against North Lamar (Paris, TX). The Panthers go into the 4A Region 2 District 13 outing with a 4-4 record. In their last outing, North Lamar Paris (Paris, TX), 2-2, in a league outing.
Next up, the Hawks play the Pittsburg Pirates (Pittsburg, TX) in a 4A Region 2 District 13 outing, on Tuesday, February 11. Pleasant Grove will attempt to improve on its 4-8 season record. The Pirates go into the outing with a 8-3 record after their 1-1 league Sulphur Springs (Sulphur Springs, TX).
