In Tuesday's league match, the host Auburn Eagles basketball team scored a tight 49-44 triumph over the Fort Chiswell Pioneers.
In their next game, the Eagles meet the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) in a Mountain Empire match, on Wednesday, February 9. Auburn will attempt to move on its 13-7 season record. The Spartans enter the match with a 6-12 record after their 61-48 league loss to Wythe (Wytheville, VA).
With the defeat, Fort Chiswell moves to 17-4 on the year. The Pioneers travel to Grayson County (Independence, VA) to meet the Blue Devils in a Mountain Empire match on Thursday, February 10.
